"I’m Starving!"

John 6:35 “Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.”

“I am so hungry!”, “I am Starving!” my kids have all made these statements at times. My son Josh, is the most dramatic of all the kids, for example he’s eating dinner and he finds something he doesn’t care for very much he says he’s full. A few minutes later when he see’s desert instead of asking Dad can I have some he says with a whiny voice “I am starving” “I’m gonna die I am so hungry!”. As a parent I know he is just being dramatic and manipulative because he wants to get desert. As adults we may not be as dramatic, or whiny but we do complain at times, and yes even make the statements “I am not being fed I’m hungry.” Jesus said, he is the bread of life and that by submitting, and surrendering our lives to him, we would never go hungry or thirsty. Now I am not saying that when you give your life to Jesus you will never have to get groceries or cook, but what I am saying is that when you commit your life to relationally live for God you will be fed spiritually and physically. You will be made complete able to give from your abundance because Jesus is your resource and he always has an abundance for us. To be full though much like at our local all you can eat joints, you must get up and load up your plate. You have to submit to his authority and provision and surrender your pride and will.

I conclude with this question, are you hungry? get up and serve yourself, God is waiting.
